Saturday, August 12: We're teaming with Telemundo (KTMB) to do voter registration at their 17th Annual Health and Back to School Fair. It will be held at the Christian Family Center on West Belfort, 2 miles west of the Southwest Freeway, US 59. We'll be inside, in air conditioned comfort. Most of the attendees are Hispanic, so we can use some Spanish speakers but it's not an absolute prerequisite. It goes from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. We'll do two-hour shifts. Monday through Friday, August 14-18. LBJ Hospital, off Loop 610 in the northeast. Because of clinics, there's a steady stream of patients and their families, not to mention hospital staff (but I did mention them, didn't I?). We'll staff as many days as we can get volunteers. 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Monday through Friday, August 21-25. Ben Taub Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. The same story: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, or as many days as we can staff.
